21st Annual European Elasmobranch Association Scientific Conference
12- 14 October 2017
First call for papers!
Authors are invited to submit abstracts for oral presentations (15 minute presentation) or a poster. Poster authors will get a chance to present their work with 2-minute pitches in the main conference program.
Potential speakers must have registered and purchased their conference ticket prior to abstract selection.
We aim to have conference sessions that cover, but are not limited to: perspectives for spatial management; movement ecology; coherence in international legislation and policy; selectivity, survival, and discards of elasmobranchs in fisheries; and elasmobranch husbandry. The final sessions will be classified depending on submissions.
The submission deadline is July 14th 2017.The conference Scientific Committee will select the oral presentations from the abstracts judging on the scientific relevance and quality. Participants will be notified about the approval of their submission by August 15. We may request oral presentation submissions to be presented as a poster, depending on the number of delegates and the number of available oral presentations.
Student travel bursary fund
We will reward bursaries to a limited number of presenting students to help them cover the cost of attending the meeting. If you have registered and made payment for the conference and are submitting an abstract for oral presentation (NOT POSTERS) you are invited to apply for the Student Travel Bursary to assist with travel costs associated with the meeting.
Applications must be received by July 14th 2017. After this deadline, the EEA Committee will review the abstracts of Student Travel Bursary applicants and will nominate five students to be awarded € 250,- towards travel costs. One non-student bursary from a developing country may be awarded at the discretion of the board.
