Presentations can be a Powerpoint presentation (16×9 format) or a Prezi presentation.
Prior to the meeting, oral presenters can submit their presentation(s) by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Use the following format when naming your files: Military Time- Last Name – First two word of paper title, e.g. 0900-Johnson-SharkScience
Onsite oral presenters can submit their presentations to the assigned representative, either before the start of the first session of the day or during the lunch break preceding their session.
Because the schedule for EEA2017 is very tight, we ask all presenters to please keep to their allotted time. Speakers with 15 minutes will be notified about their time at 12 minutes, and speakers with 10 minutes at 7 minutes. Please note that the time includes questions.
If you use images from the web, make sure you are not breaking copyright law. You can ask permission from the source or use images that are licensed as Creative Commons. In addition, government images usually fall in the public domain and are free from copyright.
All poster presentations will be displayed in the hall of the Royal Tropical Institute for the duration of the conference.
Poster set up is done in the morning on the day of your arrival. We will ask poster presenters to stand by their posters in coffee breaks to answer questions.
The maximum poster size is A1 (591 x 841 mm). Presenters are responsible for bringing their own push pins and/or other materials to secure posters to the boards.
Some tips for presenters:
- Page orientation is unrestricted;
- Include the title and authors of the poster as listed in your abstract;
- Double-space all text, using left justification;
- Suggested text size is no smaller than 22 point; Author(s) and affiliation(s) should be at least 42 point; Subheadings should be at least 60 point;
- Printed images should have a resolution of at least 120 pixels per inch (ppi).
2-minute poster pitches
Each presenter will get the opportunity to present the subject of their poster on stage with a 2-minute pitch and a single Powerpoint slide. The order of presentation will be alphabetical. There is one poster pitch session on Thursday and one on Friday. Poster presenters will receive an email regarding which day they’re presenting.
